Benson Henderson Gambles With His Life

Henderson has always been a confident and tough fighter, but nothing he's done before shows how confident he is as much as putting his career on the line.
Benson had one fight left on his UFC contract and instead of renewing the contract, like most fighters do, or even negotiating with other organizations, he decided to fight and let his contract run out.
If he had lost his fight, against Jorge Masvidal, he would've reduced his value tremendeously and might've struggled to find organizations approaching him for fights.
Fortunately for Benson Henderson, his bet paid off, even though it was only a close split decision.
Now all Henderson has to do is wait and see if he starts any kind of bidding war from other organizations along with the UFC which seems to be what he's looking for.
Henderson took a big gamble, and he won.
