Stephen Thompson will most likely get his shot at UFC Gold soon. Wonderboy has been training and getting ready for this moment for a very long time. Thompson has been training since he was a kid, he won touranments as early as 1999 when he was only 16 years old.
Stephen displayed his arsenal of attacks against Johny Hendricks last weekend, February 6th 2016, and beat Bigg Rigg via first round stoppage due to punches. After Wonderboy controlled the distance and was dictating where the fight takes place, he got Hendricks up against the cage where he had no escape.
Thompson started the finishing sequence with a beautiful spinning kick to the body and followed with heavy pressure to finish the favorite, Johny Hendricks.
After a beautiful display of his finishing abilities, Wonderboy wants a shot at Lawler for the welterweight title.
It is hard to find arguments against that fight, and the UFC is most likely working on Lawler vs. Wonderboy as we speak. Robbie Lawler might be in trouble.
