Why Would Donald Cerrone Move To 170?

Donald Cerrone’s motto has always been “Anytime, anywhere.” Cowboy never refuses a fight, and he’s been on an eight win streak before his loss to the champ dos Anjos.
Why, after such a successful streak, would Donald decide to move up to 170 and fight Tim Means? Why would Cerrone make it even harder on himself by fighting guys way bigger with much more power?
It could be that Donald is just antsy to fight and since he has to wait to fight again at 155 he decided to take a fight at 170 like he tweeted.

Maybe Cerrone wants to make a statement like Benson Henderson did, moving up to 170 and winning two fights there so far.
But, again, the nagging question still remains, why would he move up and face bigger stronger guys when his only stoppages, outside of a submission, were directly related to the opponent’s power?
Anthony Pettis stopped him with a kick to the body, and the champ just recently stopped him similarly, with a kick to the body followed by a ground and pound.
The fact that Cowboy’s only stoppages were due to body kicks could be the key though. Perhaps Donald took it as a challenge and wanted to go up and face bigger stronger guys because he is a very competitive and determined guy.
Maybe Cerrone also wants to move up to build more muscles on his frame so he can withstand those kicks to the body. As solid as Cerrone’s body is, and as hard as he trains he doesn’t seem to be able to absorb a strong kick to the body. That could be due to weight issues, he’s a tall fighter and he has to cut a lot of weight.
The move to 170 could be a great decision for Donald if he builds a lot of muscles on his frame, perhaps go up to 200 or more, then start cutting weight during the camp.
It seems like Donald’s 170 decision is a calculated and smart decision and not just a decision he made on a whim to get a fight.
