Dana White talks about his relationship with Rousey and why he was upset when she lost. Rematch between Rousey and Holm is their next fight.
"To be completely honest, it's been pretty well known, two people that I've been close to in my career are Chuck Liddell and Ronda Rousey," White told ESPN Radio. "I knew Holly Holm was the real deal, but to see somebody you care about lose the way that she did, it's tough to watch."
Dana White also added that despite the dominating performance by Holly, Ronda's whole career and achievements are reasons enough to get that rematch. A date has not been set yet, which is tricky given that Ronda has a full schedule the next few months.
According to the UFC President's conversation with ESPN's Mike & Mike (via MMA Fighting):
"I think that if we didn't make the rematch, me and [UFC CEO] Lorenzo [Fertitta] should probably lose our promoters' license. Yeah, that fight's going to happen. I don't know when, but that's the fight that will happen. Ronda Rousey has gone undefeated, taken the sport to another level and was beating the best women in the world in 14 seconds or 30 seconds, so she deserves a rematch. Holly agrees she deserves a rematch, and we'll figure it out."
